Piano Recital

Sweet Son loves playing music, but he hates recitals. He said he wanted to play the shortest song possible so that no one would keep looking at him.

Guitar Recital

Sweet Daughter was in a guitar class this year and didn't know enough to be in the December recital so she was thrilled to get to perform in the May recital.

Dallas Museum of Art

We went to visit the Dallas Museum of Art and while we enjoyed looking at the beautiful art, the favorite area is the kids' section. Here kids are given art supplies, inspiration, and set free.

A couple of days later he created this. I love when art leaves a lasting impression!

Hair Dye

Purple Hair Dye didn't work, so this time Sweet Daughter asked for black. She wanted the blackest black possible. My fair skinned tiny daughter wanted black hair. Our first question was "why?" She wants black hair so she looks more like Daddy. Awwww So here we go!

Before photo

Ready

We used 2 full tubes of black dye.

After
It's not as black as she wanted and only lasted a few days. I still refuse to bleach her blond hair in order to dye it though!

Fairview 5K

Sweet Daughter loves running so here we are doing another 5K. The race gave free photos but they are out of order.

About to cross the finish line!

Hey look, I finished also

They gave us cupcakes, bananas, chocolate milk, and water then we posed for a photo.

She knows how to spot a photographer on the race course!

She always looks right at them to make sure they don't miss her, haha.

Spring Festival, part 3

In addition to the inflatables (Tuesday's post) and art projects (yesterday's post), there was also free food, a live band, and activities!

He said he wanted orange horns. He was picturing more of a viking style hat, but this is Texas!

She loves getting her face painted

Balloons, face painting, art, ice cream... No wonder they love Daddy's work!

On our way home we stopped for one more picture

Happy Mother's Day

I all of the mothers out there had a wonderful Mother's Day. I was spoiled by my attentive family. :)

The Tree of Goodness
Green "leaves", brown "trunk", and colorful "flowers"
I love the creativity!

Handmade Gifts
I was given a selection of stickers (in my right hand), a homemade vase with homemade flowers (in my left hand), and ear muffs (on my head of course). I love them all!

Gross Motor Skills

In our never ending attempt at getting the kids to be tired, we continue encouraging as much gross motor and outside time as possible.

Some think it's too cold to swim...

What do you do when you get to the end of the monkey bars and can't reach to get down?

Birds at the Renaissance Festival

After watching an amazing show about predator birds, we had the opportunity to get close to some. These are amazing creatures and the rescue that rehabilitates and releases them into the wild comes to the festival to educate the public.

Renaissance Festival

We try to go out to a renaissance festival once a year and the kids always enjoy it. Here are just some of our adventures!

Their first time using a bow and arrow. I have no idea what is going on with his hat, but I love it.

Sweet Son asked to see a rat show and they got to meet the performers.

They are so happy to be playing with rats.

 Thar be a scary pirate!
