Blog Party 2013!

Ultimate Blog Party 2013

It's that time of year again! I'm joining the ultimate blog party.

I'm Jessica and this blog is about what we do and why when it comes to parenting. There have been controversial posts - TV and Computer Time for Babies, crazy posts - Traveling with twin babies (yes, we did 7 trips in their first year), helpful posts - Circle Time, and just plain funny posts - It's not what you think.

In case you think those things are limited to the past I can assure you there is much more to come. In May you can read about taking our 2.5 year old twins on their first BIG trip (Italy, Poland, and Germany). This Summer I will have many posts with neurological research and tips and tricks to getting preschoolers to do chores and like it.

Basically when it comes to parenting there is something here for everyone and at least a few things that will offend everyone. I like to keep it fair like that. Welcome to my blog and I hope to see you here again soon!

    1. Welcome! I hope you found something you like (and a little something to offend you).

  2. Ahh, What's a good blog without a few offensive things? Haha! Sometimes, I dont think of things as offensive. I think of it as learning new stuff. I don't know everything and I respect new perspective. That doesn't mean I will always agree.

That's what makes us so beautifully unique. I love uniqueness - and I love learning about everything kid/parenting.

I look forward to following your blog!

    1. I love learning about why (and how) people do things that I don't. I think the differences in opinion are the best part of our ever growing community. That and I'm getting used to being called names. haha

  3. Hi! Nice to meet you and thanks for coming over to my blog already. I offend people too, but at least we are thinking about the world.

It is always nice to meet a teacher turned sahm - helps me feel less lonely.

  6. Hooray!! I love offensive posts... as long as I'm not offended, of course! Ha! Well, I'm looking forward to just HOW many people you can offend. Try to break some records. And that reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw a long time ago: If I haven't offended you yet, I'm not trying hard enough. Happy UBP!!!!! (Did I use the word "offend" enough in this comment? If not, I hope it didn't offend you!)

  7. I'm really looking forward to exploring your blog! I'm a teacher with a background in special education, and now I teach 3 and 4 year olds. So any insights I can get into preschoolers would be wonderful! They still amaze me, even though I've gone through it with two of my own children.

    Nice to meet you!

    1. 4's is one of my favorite ages to teach (as are 2's). I wish we could just skip the 3 year old phase though!

  8. Hi there! Glad to meet you via UBP'13.

    Thanks for coming by www.experiencedbadmom.com.

Sometimes in my day job I process EEG and ABR data with Netstation. How's that for a small world? :)

    1. It's awesome that you actually know what EEG and ABR data look like. I'm not sure I would enjoy processing it, but I love the analysis part. haha

    1. We traveled so much before we had kids and we were afraid we would have to stop once we had them. Turns out you really don't have to, you just have to plan better.

  12. Thanks for commenting on my blog today! I'll be sticking around here to see what I can learn. I'm a huge believer in making informed decisions about everything in life...especially parenting, so the research is important. Truth never offends me, but I'll try to get offending about something if it'll make you feel better ;)

  21. Thank you for visiting my blog from UBP13! I love seeing new people visit! I am going to join your blog, because I am really excited about your upcoming trip overseas with the twins! I just went to Paris last summer but it was sans kids, but I cannot wait to take them there when they are older (probably tweens! haha!).

    1. So far the easiest ages to travel with kids have been babies and two year olds. We didn't do nearly as much traveling when they were potty training (which they did one at a time so it seemed to take forever). :)

  22. Hi Jessica! I love that you travel with your kids, mine seem to be better travelers because we do it more often too. i'm not easily offended but I seem to offend others often so I'm glad you keep it fair..have fun at the party!

  23. So happy to meet you, Jessica. Love all your family photos. My wife is much better at taking them than I, but now that I have an iPhone I'm doing better. Careful about that Coffee Lovin Mom (Amy) who commented above me. Just watch your coffee, that's all I'm saying. ;) Oh, and thanks to for stopping by our blog from the UBP13.

    1. Most bloggers take photos specifically to use on a blog. We just take photos and I try to make the blog fit them. Sometimes it works and sometimes it really, really doesn't. haha
