Blog Party 2013!
It's that time of year again! I'm joining the ultimate blog party.
I'm Jessica and this blog is about what we do and why when it comes to parenting. There have been controversial posts - TV and Computer Time for Babies, crazy posts - Traveling with twin babies (yes, we did 7 trips in their first year), helpful posts - Circle Time, and just plain funny posts - It's not what you think.
In case you think those things are limited to the past I can assure you there is much more to come. In May you can read about taking our 2.5 year old twins on their first BIG trip (Italy, Poland, and Germany). This Summer I will have many posts with neurological research and tips and tricks to getting preschoolers to do chores and like it.
Basically when it comes to parenting there is something here for everyone and at least a few things that will offend everyone. I like to keep it fair like that. Welcome to my blog and I hope to see you here again soon!

Hahaha. Well at least you offend everyone with fairness ;) Followed you from the UBP!
ReplyDeleteWelcome! I hope you found something you like (and a little something to offend you).
DeleteAhh, What's a good blog without a few offensive things? Haha! Sometimes, I dont think of things as offensive. I think of it as learning new stuff. I don't know everything and I respect new perspective. That doesn't mean I will always agree.
ReplyDeleteThat's what makes us so beautifully unique. I love uniqueness - and I love learning about everything kid/parenting.
I look forward to following your blog!
I love learning about why (and how) people do things that I don't. I think the differences in opinion are the best part of our ever growing community. That and I'm getting used to being called names. haha
DeleteHi! Nice to meet you and thanks for coming over to my blog already. I offend people too, but at least we are thinking about the world.
ReplyDeleteIt is always nice to meet a teacher turned sahm - helps me feel less lonely.
I'm always here when you want to feel less lonely. :)
DeleteI am all for offensive posts! LOL! And Elizabeth is right, at least you're an equal opportunity offender! I'm here from the UBP! :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome! I hope you found something you liked as well. :)
DeleteIt's great to meet you Jessica! Happy UBP13.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Char
Cheers Char!
DeleteHooray!! I love offensive posts... as long as I'm not offended, of course! Ha! Well, I'm looking forward to just HOW many people you can offend. Try to break some records. And that reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw a long time ago: If I haven't offended you yet, I'm not trying hard enough. Happy UBP!!!!! (Did I use the word "offend" enough in this comment? If not, I hope it didn't offend you!)
ReplyDeleteNo offense taken here. haha
DeleteI'm really looking forward to exploring your blog! I'm a teacher with a background in special education, and now I teach 3 and 4 year olds. So any insights I can get into preschoolers would be wonderful! They still amaze me, even though I've gone through it with two of my own children.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you!
4's is one of my favorite ages to teach (as are 2's). I wish we could just skip the 3 year old phase though!
DeleteHi there! Glad to meet you via UBP'13.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by www.experiencedbadmom.com.
Sometimes in my day job I process EEG and ABR data with Netstation. How's that for a small world? :)
It's awesome that you actually know what EEG and ABR data look like. I'm not sure I would enjoy processing it, but I love the analysis part. haha
DeleteI'm so impressed with your bravery in traveling with little ones. I will be taking notes on how you've managed it. Looking forward to reading more.
ReplyDelete#UBP13
We traveled so much before we had kids and we were afraid we would have to stop once we had them. Turns out you really don't have to, you just have to plan better.
DeleteCan't wait to read about that trip to Europe Jessica! Should be a whole lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteIt was awesome and we were planning our next big trip before we even made it home from our first. :)
DeleteHi Jessican! I am stopping over from UBH! Sounds like you all have alot of fun! Thanks for popping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteHi Stephanie!
DeleteThanks for commenting on my blog today! I'll be sticking around here to see what I can learn. I'm a huge believer in making informed decisions about everything in life...especially parenting, so the research is important. Truth never offends me, but I'll try to get offending about something if it'll make you feel better ;)

ReplyDeleteGreetings! Thanks :)
DeleteHi! So glad you stopped by Moose Mouse Creations! I'm looking forward to reading about your twin escapades!
ReplyDeleteIf you want to read about twin escapades, just click on the "beds" link in the right side bar. Those memories remind me that I'm out of chocolate...
DeleteIt looks like everyone is having a blast at your house!
ReplyDeleteWe certainly try!
DeleteI am visiting from the UBP13. I like blogs and people who are not afraid to tell-it-like-it-is. Enjoy the party!
ReplyDeleteWelcome!
DeleteHa ha ha! I love equal-opportunity offenders. It's important to speak your mind! Thanks for visiting my blog -- great meeting you!
ReplyDeleteI love meeting all of these new people without having to leave my couch!
DeleteYour twins are adorable! Nice to "meet" you!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteLooks like you have a pretty awesome site and i love hearing about other people's travels and adventures =) Thanks for stopping by my site earlier "MN Girl in LA" =)
ReplyDeleteNo problem. I love "meeting" new blog friends. :)
DeleteThank you for visiting my blog from UBP13! I love seeing new people visit! I am going to join your blog, because I am really excited about your upcoming trip overseas with the twins! I just went to Paris last summer but it was sans kids, but I cannot wait to take them there when they are older (probably tweens! haha!).
ReplyDeleteSo far the easiest ages to travel with kids have been babies and two year olds. We didn't do nearly as much traveling when they were potty training (which they did one at a time so it seemed to take forever). :)
DeleteHi Jessica! I love that you travel with your kids, mine seem to be better travelers because we do it more often too. i'm not easily offended but I seem to offend others often so I'm glad you keep it fair..have fun at the party!
ReplyDeleteOn one of our last flights someone ask sweet son if it was his first plane ride. He said, "Well, it's my first today." haha I had to explain that it was his 18th and the woman looked surprised. :)
DeleteSo happy to meet you, Jessica. Love all your family photos. My wife is much better at taking them than I, but now that I have an iPhone I'm doing better. Careful about that Coffee Lovin Mom (Amy) who commented above me. Just watch your coffee, that's all I'm saying. ;) Oh, and thanks to for stopping by our blog from the UBP13.
ReplyDeleteMost bloggers take photos specifically to use on a blog. We just take photos and I try to make the blog fit them. Sometimes it works and sometimes it really, really doesn't. haha
DeleteGood luck on your big trip! Sounds so exciting.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteVisiting from the UBP and stopping for a minute to link up and say HI!

Welcome to my little part of the internet. :)
DeleteHi Jessica! As soon as I saw the title of your blog, I was intrigued. I think I'm like you; I like to do my research and be as intentional as possible with my kids. I look forward to reading more! -Erica
ReplyDeleteYou do sound like me. I love meeting new friends!
DeleteAdorable kids. And totally appreciate the research. My husband is the Maven (Have you read The Tipping Point?). But I get researchy when it comes to stuff for the kids. Party on!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Do you have a post/research about what unhealthy eating does to kids?
ReplyDeleteI don't, but that's a great idea. I'll try to write one this Summer - I have to do the research first.
DeleteHi! Visiting you back from UBP13. I love your blog. There are so many great topics!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteHi! Love what I've read so far so I'll be following you :) Hope you stop by my little space: www.livinglife2itsfullest.com
ReplyDeleteI love your tooth fairy story! :)
DeleteThanks for stopping by our party at Simple Sojourns!! I'm still making the rounds. I might be over staying my welcome and easting too much party food. Ha! xoxo Cathi
ReplyDeleteYou are always welcome and my cooking skills aren't very good, but I'm glad you are enjoying it. :)
DeleteWhat a great blog! I read your TV and Computer Time for Babies ... fascinating! My kids didn't watch TV when they were very little, either. I'm following you here and on your Facebook page!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm actually at another neuroscience conference right now and the current evidence against screen time is even more convincing. I will have a lot of the new research posted over the Summer. :)
