Kid Photographer - fun and games

These are all photos found on Sweet Daughter's camera. These are the things she thinks are important and I want to value that by highlighting them here.

The animals and dolls are having a very social lunch.

The position game was turned into an entire story line about a neighborhood.

How is this possible since they can never find more than 2 mini-figs when they want to play with them? Does this only happen in our house?

Organizing Legos

The kids decided to sort all of their Legos by color. After about 30 minutes, I brought out the egg cartons for them to use to help sort. They kept going and going. We have a ton of Legos (figuratively).

They spent hours and hours working on this. Then with less than 100 Legos left, they quit. I finished the last group for them. Then we had to find a new storage solution. Wonderful Husband put dividers into cardboard boxes so they could stay divided into the 14 different sections (the people/animals were in a plastic container). I know what you are thinking, how long could they possibly leave them sorted? We are talking about a couple of 5 year olds after all.

I keep this blog a year behind real life for privacy reasons. As of a full year later, they are still sorted. They are still played with daily and we now have even more Legos. It's crazy that they can leave the floor so covered in toys that you can't walk through, but the Legos, those get sorted.

LegoLand Rides (3/3)

This will be the last LegoLand post, I promise. These are just a few other rides and photos that didn't fit in the other posts.

Did I mention the lack of crowds? I don't like dropping rides so I got out of this one.

 The other consequence of no lines is the rides last extra long.

Wonderful Husband doesn't like spinning rides, but was willing to go with Sweet Son.

LegoLand Rides (2/3)

Like many kids, ours love the idea of driving. There are many options for them at LegoLand.

 No parents allowed on the track. They just let the kids drive around and earn their own Lego license.

 He's in the blue car wearing a blue shirt proudly declaring his "right turn" (well, it is a turn). She is in a blue car wearing a purple shirt watching everyone else and not where she is going.

 

Driving through the Lego safari offered more guidance.

This ride looked so exciting. They were so happy when they started.

The horse goes up and down as it travels along the track.

The ride was a bit long. She was ready to get off.

The ride clearly lost a bit of the magic by the end for him as well.

LegoLand Rides (1/3)

There were so many great rides at LegoLand the kids were able to enjoy. We would get in line and wait for the previous ride to end, then get right on. I don't think we waited more than 3 minutes for any ride.

We let the kids take full control.

A couple of times we did have to assist in moving the boat away from the dock.

This is a very deceptive looking ride. The lack of lines means we walked up as other people were exiting so we didn't really know what was about to happen. Our family all got into one firetruck. There were 3 trucks total. Then we were expected to pump as quickly as possible to get the firetruck to move toward the fire. This was quite exhausting when you were expecting to sit down and ride. Once you make it to the other end, you have to get out and spray the water hose at the fire in various windows. Once you knock down enough fire, you jump back in the truck and pump your way back to the beginning. The first team back wins. We have a couple of very competitive members of the family (one big, one little) so we gave it our all. We won! We were also sweating and out of breath by the end of the ride. This was fun, but not nearly as relaxing as the carousel and boat ride.

LegoLand characters

If you read yesterday's post you might think LegoLand is only really awesome things that have been built from Legos, but there is so much more. Today's post is only the living characters found at LegoLand.

I admit, we have no idea the name of this character, but he greeted us as we entered.

We have many Lego people who look like this guy. They were so excited to hold his hands.

Look closely, those are Lego people in full costume water skiing as part of the pirate show.

Don't let the pirates capture you!

There are many natural places in the park including botanical gardens. This photo actually includes fish, ducks, birds, and turtles.

They were telling this character all about everything they had done.

On Thursday I will start writing about the many rides at LegoLand.

LegoLand

With four Lego lovers in the house, we just had to go to LegoLand when we were staying in Orlando. It was a bit of a drive, but the kids loved it. The park wasn't crowded - you can see that in the photos. We were able to ride everything we wanted (some multiple times) and see a few shows. We didn't spend an entire day here because of the lack of crowds, but I can see how you could if there were lines for everything.
