School Photos

Sweet Son didn't want to smile. He didn't want to have his picture taken. He didn't want to meet new people. He didn't want to be some place new. We had an 8 year old photographer trying to get good school/homeschool pictures. She did really well considering the difficult subject!

Unfortunately this photographer has now moved out of the country and I am once again wondering what to do for school photos this year.

School Photos

In year's past the kids attended a Montessori school and we always bought one school photo. They are expensive and not great quality. Now that the kids are doing homeschooling (and attending the school I teach at for fun classes), I wasn't sure what to do about school photos. Then a friend posted on facebook that her daughter was trying to get work as a photographer. Here are some of her photos of Sweet Daughter.

Did I mention the photographer is 8 years old? These are amazing! Now for the challenge. Come back tomorrow to see some of her photos of Sweet Son who is incredibly uncooperative when it comes to photos, meeting new people, and smiling.

They aren't the highest quality photos but I love that they take pictures of each other. I love seeing the bond they have in ways that words can't describe.

Kid Photographer - doll house family

When I bought the giant doll house, it came fully furnished, but without a family. I found multiple family sets at a local store and picked the one that most closely resembled us. (They had 4 different skin color sets.) It had 8 pieces - Grandmother, Grandfather, Dad, Mom, Boy, Girl, Toddler, and Baby. What I didn't know at the time is that the family's main occupation would be modeling. Here are some of their group shots.

I cut down the photos to the best 3. There were so many of these people it was a bit crazy.
(How is it the dolls are in so much better shape than we are? Shouldn't they offer a variety of body types in addition to races? Sorry, just rambling off topic.)

Yesterday was all about photos Sweet Son had taken of himself. Today's post includes Sweet Daughter's attempts at selfies.

A bit blurry, but so cute.

Today's (and tomorrow's) posts are both photos they have taken of themselves. These are all selfies taken by Sweet Son. I have not done any editing and I wouldn't dare correct the camera position.

Look his face was still slightly pudgy. I miss that little boy face!

The position game was turned into an entire story line about a neighborhood.

How is this possible since they can never find more than 2 mini-figs when they want to play with them? Does this only happen in our house?

Kid Photographer - Books for everyone

These are all photos found on Sweet Son's camera. He is a strong believer in books. Everyone should have books. Even if they are stuffed animals.

Panda gets a book about a panda.

The fish gets a book about a hen.

Clearly the pig is researching jobs.

The small bear can learn a big lesson from this one.

It is no surprise that group photo day at school is followed shortly thereafter by group photos around our house. Here are some of my favorites from Sweet Daughter's camera. She is a natural organizer.
