Indoor Fun, part 2

If you saw yesterday's post you know how easy the kids made this obstacle look. We decided to get in on the fun.

Indoor Fun

What should you do when it's rainy and you are off for winter break? We went to Pump It Up and discovered this new to us obstacle.

You just jump across from one ball to the next 

Don't they make it look easy and graceful?

They tried different techniques and seemed to almost always succeed.

Basketball

Sweet Daughter still loves basketball and the season is going much better now that she is playing with, and against, girls her own size!

Sweet Daughter loved basketball and wanted to do another season, so be prepared for more pictures. New team (this time they are all much closer to her height, she wasn't even the smallest!), new head coach, same Daddy as the assistant coach. :)

Sweet Son is loving his swim lessons. The swim school maintains a ratio of 1 teacher for every 2 students, so when one kid is out, the other ends up with a private lesson! This makes for a very tired child and a very happy Mommy.

The final game of an 8 game basketball season was a reason to celebrate. These girls learned so much and had fun in the process. They didn't win any games, but that's not what is important.

Sweet Daughter requested a 5K for her 7th birthday. We signed up for an inflatable race because who doesn't love inflatables?

 BRRR - It's cold at the start.

 

Running through the giant balls - they had volunteers throwing the balls up and moving them around as everyone went through.

Birthday Party

This post is continued from yesterday - the kids were invited to a birthday party for a friend. This trampoline location had many cool things other than just trampolines.

The kids were invited to a birthday party at a trampoline place. Of course, they immediately decided to complete the obstacle course which had nothing to do with trampolines!

Sweet Daughter is still loving playing basketball. She is actually a good defensive player since she isn't intimidated by the size of others.

Showdown 5K Results

Some people take great race photos every single time. I am not one of those people. However, Sweet Daughter always gets the magical floating in air pictures.

Showdown 5K

Sweet Daughter was working toward her first spinner medal for running. She had to complete 3 races in a race series that included up to 4 runs. Showdown was her 3rd run!

Basketball

Sweet Daughter decided to play basketball this Fall. She wanted something with people and competition. She's actually a decent basketball player, despite her height.

She's the tiny one in purple in the middle of the photo. 

Yeah, the other girls were all MUCH bigger on both teams.

She is the one with the ball trying to figure out who is open.

I'll be honest, this is what most of my photos look like. I think she's the small blur in front.

Notice the video camera in front of me? The other team recorded each of their games and then would meet and analyze their performance and what they needed to work on. Their coach was... intense. She screamed and called them names and insulted them. Did I mention this is first and second grade girls recreational basketball? We lost the game, but our girls walked away happy because no one screamed at them. It taught them to appreciate something they had taken for granted before.

We met a friend at a local park. He was younger and our kids immediately took charge - whether he liked it or not!
