Basketball

Sweet Daughter still loves basketball and the season is going much better now that she is playing with, and against, girls her own size!

She has the ball!

She loved running the ball in and passing it to one of our "shooters"

More Basketball!

Sweet Daughter loved basketball and wanted to do another season, so be prepared for more pictures. New team (this time they are all much closer to her height, she wasn't even the smallest!), new head coach, same Daddy as the assistant coach. :)

Basketball - End of Season

The final game of an 8 game basketball season was a reason to celebrate. These girls learned so much and had fun in the process. They didn't win any games, but that's not what is important.

Exciting game! (Sweet Daughter is the one who waves at the end)

Final game team picture
(The team got noticeably smaller the longer the season went on)

End of the season so the girls got to silly string the coaches!

Basketball

Sweet Daughter is still loving playing basketball. She is actually a good defensive player since she isn't intimidated by the size of others.

She's the tiny one behind her defender.

Different game - they have the shortest girls waiting for someone to take a free throw - she's the tiny one

Basketball

Sweet Daughter decided to play basketball this Fall. She wanted something with people and competition. She's actually a decent basketball player, despite her height.

She's the tiny one in purple in the middle of the photo.
Yeah, the other girls were all MUCH bigger on both teams.

She is the one with the ball trying to figure out who is open.

I'll be honest, this is what most of my photos look like. I think she's the small blur in front.

Notice the video camera in front of me? The other team recorded each of their games and then would meet and analyze their performance and what they needed to work on. Their coach was... intense. She screamed and called them names and insulted them. Did I mention this is first and second grade girls recreational basketball? We lost the game, but our girls walked away happy because no one screamed at them. It taught them to appreciate something they had taken for granted before.

Basketball

After trying a few different sports over the summer, Sweet Daughter wanted to continue basketball. Here are pictures from her first couple of practices.

Yes, Daddy is one of the coaches!

Have you ever tried to take a picture of 1st grade girls basketball practice?
Girls bouncing around and I was trying to stay off to the side and not let them see me taking a picture because more than one would stop and pose and I didn't want the coach to get upset!

Basketball

Sweet Daughter loves sports. She wanted to try out a basketball camp in the summer. If you know us, you realize we aren't tall people. But if she wants to try it she can.

First day of camp - she could have gone to play with the girls or the kids her own size, but why?

By the second day she was scoring. She is the one in the blue shorts/black shirt (the tiny one)
