A Tale of Two Beds, part 26

Apparently beds are confusing. I mean, what are they for? How do they work? Which way do they go?

She has moved the bed so it is blocking the doorway. Then she fell asleep on it with her feet touching the ground off the side.

So now her bed is in the right place, but she is shivering on top of 4 blankets and still hanging off the side.

He used his blanket and pillow to create a trap so I couldn't go in and check on him. 

Um... at least her feet aren't hanging off? I never knew how complicated beds would be for my kids. I also have no idea how she can sleep with part of her hanging off.

Jump Zone Birthday Party

Sweet Son was invited to a birthday party for a friend from school. It's difficult to write a post about these because I won't use other kids photos on my blog. The party was at Jump Zone. They have inflatables, video games, and pizza. We have done Pump It Up before and they have private parties, this was completely different. All parties and open play individuals were together on all equipment which meant it was more crowded and required waiting longer for turns on popular things. I also didn't see any employees supervising, which would have been helpful.

Sweet Son decided this was his favorite video game. He didn't weigh enough to do sharp turns which was amusing and helped him stay on course.

He recruited the birthday girl to join him on his favorite game. He had great time and we have gone back for open play on a weekeday when it wasn't crowded. The big crowds on the weekends did scare me away a bit though.

Painting Pillows!

After the success of the project I posted about yesterday, we decided to try painting pillows. It sound crazy, I know. First we cut 8 pieces of thick white cloth (4 to be painted, 4 to be backing). Then I had the kid write their names on them using washable gel glue. After they had both finished, I drew a heart around their names with the glue. After that completely dried, it was time to paint.

I gave them two colors and instructions to cover the entire thing. They both painted two.

Yes, they were copying each other. It always happens, but in this case it was cute.

After the paint dried (which took a long time), we washed them. The glue comes off so you can see what was written on them before. Then we just had to attach the backs and insert the pillows. Here you can see how easy they are to read.

This shows the backing better. At first these didn't seem very soft. After a couple of days the material felt more like regular material and less like paint. Don't wait until the last minute to finish them like I did, haha. A year later and they are all still holding up well.
