Air and Space Museum

We knew the kids would love the air and space museum so that was our first stop in DC.

Traveling to DC!

After studying American History, we took a family trip to DC, or as home schoolers call it, a field trip!

Our room was right next to a train

There goes President Obama (or possibly the decoy)
The blog is a year in the past for those wondering about the change in President.

We love riding public transportation

Woodworking

The kids asked to attend a woodworking summer camp, but those don't exist for 6 year olds. So we decided to do some simple projects at home. Here is the first one - a toolbox.

Band Concert

The kids joined our local homeschool concert band. Sweet Son plays trumpet (cornet) and Sweet Daughter plays flute. They are in beginning band which started in January. The majority of this group of kids didn't know how to read music or play instruments so to go from that to a concert in just a few months is impressive.

The group performing outside on a HOT day.
Sweet Daughter is on the front row right side (legs don't touch the ground)
Sweet Son is on the second row left side (2nd chair in)

Saints Go Marching In

Not bad for less than 15 classes together, but they certainly have room for improvement.
