Locks/Safety

After moving the kids to separate rooms, one child would continually come out of the room and wake the other up. Which child this was varied regularly. This is not ok, so we decided to lock the child's door until they fell asleep. Only we didn't want a real lock. It needed to be something quick that we could easily do and undo.

Our solution was to just jam the door. We had this old remote for a tv we no longer own. It was perfect. It held the door just tight enough that the kids couldn't open it. Then one day we realized the kids could come out of their room, yet the remote was still in place. So we grabbed the camera and waited...

Huh, that shouldn't happen. It was shortly after this that the kids stopped waking each other up and we no longer needed this. Thank goodness!
