We just happened to be driving down the street and noticed a gas station was having Rowdy (Dallas Cowboy's mascot) and some Cowboy's signing autographs.
Sweet Daughter ran up to Rowdy!
Cute pose
We went inside and the kids got to talk to the football players. We didn't get any autographs because they were charging money for them and none of these players were names we know - I'm not sure if any of them have ever actually played during a game or if they had just recently signed. My favorite part was when one player asked what their favorite football team is, my daughter immediately named my university (the only football games they have ever been to). The professional had a good laugh at that, as we aren't known as a great football program; though we do have an alum that plays every game for the Cowboys. I wish he had been there!
My kids love going to football games. However their favorite game every year is the game with all the mascots. Here are some photos.
Sweet Daughter with a tooth and tooth fairy.
Peruna!
Um... Wolf? Cat? I have no idea, but my kids are willing to cuddle.
A Green Bee?
Of course the game isn't just about the mascots. They also like to run like crazy. That is Sweet Son running around waving his hat in the air. He did that for 30 minutes at a time more than once during the game. Then he slept at night. ;)
It's September which means football season. Here are some photos from one of the games the kids attended.
Here we are before the game. I'm in the alumni band and we play for the crowd before the game starts.
The kids spend great amounts of time running up and down this hill. Not the best place to watch the game, though you can still see some of the action, but it really wears the kids out.
The two guys in this photo were friends in Canada and roommates when they moved to the US. Now they are at football games with their families. I would say the immigration is going well.
This is a cell phone video from off to the side of the alumni band. The sound quality isn't the best, but we are playing Sesame Street, which is one of my favorites. You can't see me in the video, but I promise I'm somewhere in that trumpet line.
