Snowman

Sweet Son wanted to build a snowman so after a long day of skiing, Sweet Daughter and I went to warm up while he worked on it.

First, a small snowman

A bigger snowman with a face

He couldn't find anything good for arms so this was his solution. I love it!

Playing in the snow

Ski trips are about more than just skiing. We also get to play in the snow! Ok, I was only outside for a little while before going in and sitting by the heater and reading a book, but the kids stayed out for over an hour.

I'm not really sure what they are doing here, but it makes me laugh!

More Skiing

After a warm up remembering how to ski, the kids wanted to try some new things.

This was a winding trail through the trees. It had bumps, quick turns, and wasn't big enough to ski side by side. We did it a few times and it was challenging for the kids. No videos of this because we needed to focus on them.

Snow Skiing!

We try to go snow skiing at least once a year. Here is our annual trip!

Happy at the start of the day. This is the first year their heads have been big enough to wear a helmet!

Since we only go once a year we start with a nice easy hill - here we are going up the carpet lift.

Later in the day at the top of a green run and everyone is still smiling!

Skiing in a line - one parent leads the way and one parent makes sure no one falls or gets lost.

SNOW!

Another fun activity in our town square is the snow! Every weekend they have snow machines that go on at the top and bottom of the hour. They play Christmas music from speakers you can hear throughout the area. The lights are also synchronized to the music.

In case the attire of the people confuses you, it is about 60F or 15C outside.

Snow is always exciting. Especially when it doesn't cause any safety or traffic issues!

More Snow!

It's almost Spring and apparently time for one more snow storm. The kids and husband are beyond excited.

It's starting!

Snow Day!!

Snow is so much better than ice. After the ice had mostly melted, we got hit with a real snow storm. The kids were thrilled.

It's not a snowman, but it's happy!

That's better. Real snow and plenty of fun things to do in it.

Clearly the first step is to mow it... um... You might be from the South if you child doesn't know what a snow blower is.

Snow Fight!

Gathering snow to throw is so much easier when there is a lot of snow!

They started with reasonable sized snow balls.

They discovered just how much fun it is to throw it toward Daddy.

If small snowballs are good...

Christmas Snow

Last year we had snow on Christmas Day. (Remember this blog is a year behind.) It was a special treat since we didn't get any snow the year before.

Throwing snowballs at Daddy. This was my favorite part!

Laundry basket sledding.

Wonderful husband was raised in Canada, but down here we don't have much need for sleds.

The kids still get to have the fun of sledding even if it is in a laundry basket.
