Family in Lodz

The entire reason for our three country trip, was really to see family in Poland. We only added on Italy and Germany because it's so cheap to travel in Europe once you are already there. Our first stop in Poland was in Lodz (pronounced "woodg" in English). You will see from the photos the focus really is family and not tourist stops.

Sweet son has always been drawn to musical toys and he spent a lot of time playing the keyboard and the toy guitar.

Sweet son wanted the bear to carry him since the bear was bigger than he is.

Cousins reading books. Ok, I don't know what the actual term for the familial relationship would be. The two girls in the middle are sweet husband's second cousins, so maybe they are third cousins or something... We simplified by just calling them cousins.

She was more interested in the people than the toys, so he was showing her how to play it.

The best part of this photo? Both kids got to ride on someone's shoulders and I got to take the photo. This is much easier on my neck and back. haha

The problem with only visiting every few years? We all end up taking photos of the family together. The kids happily latched on to the people who spoke the most English.

Cousins playing together

More fun with the teddy bear - notice she's holding it up and the legs are still dragging on the ground.

They wanted our kids to have something to remember the visit by and bought each of them a toy. A year later and they still play with these toys at home.

A group photo of us with our Lodz family. We can't wait to see them again in 2014. We are only able make the trip overseas every other year.
